I have yet another question....
Is the parking brake cable suppose to run under the exaust pipe or over (near the body) the pipe. My cable seems to touch the exaust both ways.
Any input?
thanks,
wes

but if you put it on the top of the exaust, the driveline almost hits it. We don't want a tangled up and broken cable wraped around my driveline

maybe your missing some parts. ON my 65 the cable coming from the pedal inside the car goes on top of the trans mount and on top of the exhaust. you have the cable tension braket at this point. On the passenger side of the car, about a foot from the transmission output shaft, you have a hook that fits into a hole in the crossmember, the other end of which is also hook shaped and it fits around the cable. So in the end result you have the cable being held tight on both sides of hte transmission. I suspect you are missing the hook. Also there are 2 hooks, one on each side of the car that also holds the cable up to the body. There are small, about 2 inches long, and made out of heavy wire. YOu need those also to hold the cable up against the underside of the body. I just installed my cable last week, and I read the assembly manual before I put it in. I think RichL79 has photos of the underside of his car on his web site showing his parking brake cables.

mine does have the 2 cable hooks. I put the cable on the underside of the exaust and hooked it up to the pedal and it works fine now.
thanks guys graemlins/thumbsup.gif
