As the topic states, on the front disc brakes, are the backing plates really necessary? i only have the four-piston caliper backing plates and the rest of the brake setup i have is the single piston variety. I promise to keep the mud bogging to a minimum. Will it survive water and road dust? I won't be winter driving.
