I have a 67 Malibu with manual steering and I want to convert to power. I know someone with a 73 Chevelle that did an engine swap and never put the power steering stuff back in because he wants to do rack and pinion. He said he would give me the pump and steering box really cheap if they fit on my car. So the question is will the equipment work on my car or should I consider rack and pinion. I want to use the car as a semi daily driver and low 12's drag car.

Yes, that 1973 Chevelle box will fit. The pump may not depending on the brackets. You may need different brackets to make it fit your engine depending on what accessory set-up you are using. Also, you will need to locate a 1964-1967 GM a-body power steering pitman arm.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the help. I do remember him saying I would need a new pitman arm. He also said that the stock bracket makes timing on a big block difficult. Is there a way to mount it with the stock bracket so it won't have this problem or do i need to look into after market.
