Hi there,
I'm in process of replacing my parking brake cables and have some serious concerns on what was sold as a GM service replacement part for the rear cables. The replacements are not clipped to the frame where they connect to the intermediate cable. Instead, they have tangs that spread out to prevent the cable from backing out.
The thing I'm not happy with is that newer tangs style doesn't postively secure the cable. It is quite loose in that hole where the old clipped cables were held tight. Granted, this may be a moot point since the general tension of the entire parking brake cables as a functioning unit would hold the rear cables in place.
Does anyone else have any experience with these replacement cables, good or bad?
thanks.
