hello everyone....
i have a question....
i just bought big block springs for my engine swap from a 350 to a 502.
and the new springs are about 1 inch shorter than the old sbc springs..... i know that it may depend on the spring tension,as far as how far it will let the car go down.... but shouldn't the spring be the same size or longer than the sbc?

not really
it is determined by spring rate
and with the difference in rate with the spring that is shorter if it was as taller the car would sit too high
with the higher rate the car will not be as easy to push down and so it will be able to hold the weight of the big block and sit at the same height
