: Power Window Switch....

Hey Everyone,

My car doesn't have power windows, nor am I thinking of installing them. However, my car DOES have air bags. It use to have manual valves, but right now I'm converting them over to electric valves. I've been looking at switches and nothing has really caught my eye. Then I thought, what about the stock 4 power window switch??? It would give it a "stock" look to the interior of the car(what I'm shooting for), and is readily available. I'd be putting it in a custom made console.

My question is, can it handle the power and everything else? I'm not really up and up on all the amps and voltages and such. I just think if it could power a window motor, it should be able to power a tiny air valve.

So do you think this will this work????

Thanks for all your help!!!

There has been some concern that the reproduction switches are not as durable as a original switch. With that said, I would also use relays with the PW switch. This way, the relays carry all the "load", the PW switch only has to activate the relays, which is only in miliamps.

I know that the supplier I use, True-Connections, carries the power window switches made by M&H Wiring. I have completely rewired my car using their harness's, and have been super happy. I could wire in some relays too, wouldn't be too hard.

Is there more than one manufactor for the power window switches?
