Is there a conversion kit that allows you to use stock 14" rims afterwards ??

I did it on my 65 and Im using 14" rally's, but you have to get ones that are for disc brakes. They made rally's that only worked with drum brakes, I know I bought some not knowing and was lucky enough to get my money back. If you get some later model stock steel wheels they will work also.

nebulous,
I have both a 67 Malibu with 14 inch rallys and a 67 RS Camaro with 14 inch rallys and I wanted to maintain them and not switch up to 15. As best as I know, all 67 Camaros with the exception of Z28's had 14 inch wheels including those with disc brakes. Every kit I could find said at the bottom in fine print, "use with 15 inch rims" So for my Camaro, I found some 67 calipers and spindles and brackets and had the calipers refurbed by Stainless Steel Brakes Co in NY. They put in new SS sleeves and totally rebuilt them and did a beautiful job. See http://www.picturetrail.com/k-squared

The 14 inch rally wheels for discs were indeed different from the drum type and here is how you can tell if you have or can find original disc 14 inch rallys. Near the valve stem is a stamped in letter code. For 67's it is a DA or a DG. By totally pure luck, I had XG which is 68 rally wheels. The calipers and rotors fit in but it really fills up the wheel well! I don't know if he still has 'em but sometime ago Gregg at ====> Greggnnacn@aol.com had a set of DG's, so you might want to contact him.
My Chevelle is still manual drums the way I bought it and I have restored it back fully to how it was when I bought it new in Oct 1966, so I wanted to keep it 100% original. But the brakes are and always have been poor. Good luck! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Guys rally wheels originally only came with disc brakes, all rally wheels are for disc brakes. Yes 14" wheels will work with the 11" single and 4 piston disc brakes. I believe what you are saying about rims being disc or drum is correct for standard rims.
