Hi everyone. Sorry for the longish post to follow but I want to provide enough information so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I just recently bought a nice working 1970 GM/Delco 01BPBT2 AM/8 track tape unit in hopes of returning my vert's stereo back to factory stock. However, now I have some questions about what other peripherals I'll need to procure to be ready to make the transition back.

After doing some topical searches on here it looks like I'm also going to need a wiring harness, some 10 Ohm speakers for the dash and kick panels, and a mounting bracket for the radio itself.

I called Greg Ward to see if he sells some of these items but he only works on the radios. Next I called Fred's and he was very nice but he only has the speakers, no brackets or harness. I've seen what is advertised as a harness for a 70 eight track that will wire up to four speakers on eBay. It will cost between $30-40. Is that about right? As far as the mounting bracket goes doesn't someone on here make and sell those, I thought I read that in a post somewhere? Anyway, I think Eckler's has the 8 track mounting bracket for $12 if not. Can anyone else please chime in here if I'm missing something or better yet point me to the best suppliers? I want to assemble everything I need so this can get completed soon. Right now the car has a Kenwood radio in it that fits in the SS dash so thankfully the dash is in tact but I think I read somewhere about plastic cups behind the dash (I think) to hold the knobs/radio in place. Since the knobs are different for the 8 track in dash players should this also be a possible concern as I also think someone on here sells those too. The reason I bring this up is because I have read that some people have altered the inside of their dashes to fit aftermarket radios in the space and since I've yet to take my dash apart, I can't be sure that mine is not in that category, even though it looks perfectly fine on the surface. Any help is always greatly appreciated. I'll also have to buy some 8 Tracks, I can't say I ever thought I would ever be buying 8 Track tapes again, a little ironic in a way :p

Maybe I've posted in the wrong section?

Ok, so I'll repost this over in the electrical section. Maybe someone could provide me with some some insight there.

Amy,
Regarding the bracket, if someone here can take measurements of their bracket, this could be easily hand made. All factory radios fit in the radio opening in the dash. If the cups are cut out, the dash will need to be repaired.

I found a lot of parts (speakers, harnesses, etc.) on Ebay during my restoration.
