The brand new ball joints from PST do not fit tight in my lower control arms, more so on the right side. If I put the car on stands under the control arm, the ball joint slips out of it's socket and the guys at the alignment shop say it must be fixed. Do you guys think it's my ball joint, or is the control arm worn out? This car has been in my family since new and the ball joints I took out of them were the originals, is it possible my control arms are worn out to the point that the ball joints no longer are a press fit? Haven't taken it apart to compare my ball joints to some other new ones yet. hopefully it's the ball joint, otherwise it's new control arm time. Any suggestions on control arms if i need new ones? tubular?

The ball-joints should be pressed in, but if these were the originals you took out, I doubt the holes are worn.

There could be some cracks in the arm, as they tend to crack right near the ball-joint.

I would also check the new ball-joint itself, maybe its the wrong size... If you have your old ball-joints still, measure them where they were installed in the arm, and then measure the new ones...

I dont have the originals, but i did check mine against new ones and they are the exact same size, about 2.015". Anyone know where i can get a new lower control arm? the left side seems to be ok, it's just the right one that won't stay in.
