I just purchased a '67 booster/master cylinder for my 1964 Malibu. It bolts up ok, (3 of 4 holes line up) but booster is 11" and car does not currently have a motor in it. So I'm not sure if I will have a clearance problem, or not, with valve covers(I am planning on running a small block). Also ,I wonder if it'll clear the inner fender.I recently bought back the car I once before owned, and disc brakes were put up front w/2" dropped spindles. I will also mount a proportioning valve. Any feedback or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. By the way, I am a new member.

The 11" booster won't be a problem since you are using the small block. I installed an 11" 72 Chevelle power booster in my El Camino. It was tight against the wheel house and scratched the paint, but fit fine otherwise. I had to file the hole openings to make all four studs fit. I added an adjustable proportioning valve inplace of the original type so I could balance my brakes for my application.
The 72 booster failed since it was an original unit and just worn out. I replaced this with a 9" 80 Trans Am dual diaphragm booster and it fits great and allows more room for plug access. It uses the same master cylinder as the 72 Chevelle booster, so I was able to use the new MC I had converted to during the first booster swap.
If your interested in this TA booster, do a search. It has been covered many times on TC.

Thanks for the info. I will see how this works, since it was purchased as a rebuilt unit, from Autozone very recently. I may try to drill out the 4th opening to get the bolt through it properly.I'm not letting this baby go again, so.. I'll probably replace the current unit again down the road. I know one thing.. I want to have it on the road for the 40th anniversary next year, of the Chevelle introduction to the Bowtie line.

I have a '69 11" booster from Azone in my '65 and all 4 holes lined up no problem... Have plenty of working room with my small block and tall valve covers too. Am planning on going to a Hydrovac soon to increase my brake pressures as I have a JL8 front disc system which is no more than the '67-68 4 piston set up and I want to be able to use the brakes without worring about vacuum since I have a cam that does not make all that much at low RPM's... I also have 11" drums for the rear.

Thanks again, for the input! Always easiest to start simple, and work your way back,if need be!This is great to have other like-minded Chevelle enthusiasts to bounce ideas, and questions off of. Keep on cruzin'
