Hey guys
bought some dorman lug nuts (1/2") for my 67 from autozone. its a 540 BBC with some decent power. Are these lugnuts good enough to handle the power? i dont want them falling off.
if they torque down, are they ok?
thanks

i am certainly not an expert on chevelles but other vehicles i have owned that make power require good axle studs. these will be receiving the bulk of the torque and snapping one will lead to a chain reaction. make sure they are in good shape and do not try and drive with even one missing.(ask how i know that)
i am sure others will chime in with good advice.

no, im talking about the lug nuts...
not the wheel studs. those look like they are pretty decent. they are moser axles so whatever moser uses...
I about the lug nuts... are dorman lug nuts decent?
anyone know?
thanks

Torque to the wheels is trasmitted via friction generated by the clamp load you get when you torque the lugnuts to specified installation torque. If the nuts will torque to spec and maintain preload, they will be fine.
