Depeneds on how much load, usually 90-100 amps will get you where yo need to be

using a stock chevy model with 98-amp output,
seems like it was orginally for a 80's-something camaro with AC???
was suggested by the MAD-electrical site,
i also converted the wiring harness from external regulator to the internal regulator,
keeping the 3-wire set-up to remotely sense the voltage,
modifications were done as suggested by Mark at the MAD-electrical site.

If the cost is not prohibitive you can always go bigger than you really need, it won't hurt and will most likely extend the life of the alt by not workingit as hard thereby not heating it up as much.

I have a 120amp the price was to good to pass up! It all really depends on the amount of amps you will be using.
For example lets say your fans are on high, your headlights are on, foot on the brake, blinker on, stereo on, and either the heater or a/c is on. Dont forget your ignition system.
It sounds like a lot and depending on how strong your headlights are and sizes fans you could drawing quite a bit. Most ppl are safe with 100amp others buy 120amp. You cant really go to big. Some ppl think that if you buy a 100amp alt your going to use 10amps. thats just the max output of the alt not what its always putting out.
Im sure you will be safe with the 100amp. If you come across a 120amp for a few bucks more then go for it. It can hurt and if you ever upgrade to electric water pump or very bright headlights or even a big system. . . you have the amps there if you need :)

I've got 160amp. Probably to much, but I'd rather have to much than to little.
