I am ready to go Quick ratio steering on my 67. I tried a camaro box but ended up with less maximum steering angle b/c of some stops built into the camaro box. A few years ago I was given the phone # of a rebuilder that would install the quick ratio gears and machine the stops for the chevelle needs. Is this the way to go? or is there a better way(Grand cherokee box) that I read a thread about? How about a phone# for a rebuilder that you can reccomend from experience. Thanks, Jon

You don't need to machine the stops, at least I didn't with my 87 IROC-Z box.
The stops in the back were snap rings which I simply removed, and the front stops (4 risers on the cap) were taken care of by using the cap from my original power steering box.
Took about 3 hours (including fabbing a tool to put the piston and balls back on the wormshaft) but it's definately something you can do yourself. Just don't lose any of the balls!
If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself I would send it down to Lee Manufacturing in Sun Valley. Sorry I can't find their contact info at the moment.
