I presently have a 10 bolt 8.2 in my 67 chevelle. I have found a 12 bolt out of a 69 chevelle that I an considering putting in. I believe the 69 rearend is one inch longer, and I was wondering if it is a direct bolt in. Other than backspace on the wheels as a concern, are the control arm mounts and spring perches located in the same position from 67 to 69. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

It will bolt right in. I went from a 10 bolt in my '67 to a 12 bolt from a 71. Not a problem. smile.gif

all mounting point are the same...... length is one inch longer per side .. offset on rims will take care of that.... check drive shaft for botteming out on slip yoke in trans as the 12 bolt is longer Might need to shortened driveshaft or get the one out of the 69 that the rear came from ...

As mentioned, it's an easy bolt in deal. I put a '69 12 bolt in my '67 Elky.
Actually, each end of the 12 bolt rearend axle tube is 5/8" longer than that the '67s. But all mount points are the same.
