So a few years ago when i was restoring my 69 and had the fenders off to fix the cowl i pulled out a big flapper looking door and at the time i had no clue what it was, so it went into the parts box. I now realize many years later that this door probably belongs to the outside air intake vacuum pod thing. How can i put this door back in? Looks like the fender has to come off or something?

How about some pics. Your take on 'outside air door' might be different than everyone else's.

Its the door that lets air in from the cowl. I dont have a picture because I dont have any clue how the old one was in there, or how to even get a picture of it. There are 2 doors on the 69 A/C, the outside door (located up in the cowl by the windshield somewhere) and the inside door (behind the kick panel). Im trying to figure out this outside air one by the window...

You do not need to remove the fender. It is easier with the fender and the A/C suitcase removed, but not necessary. Just position it in there and with your third hand srew it down lol. The manual will help you with assembly if you forgot how it goes together.
