Hey guys, got a question for ya!

Was rear disc brakes an option on some 69 SS's? A guy I know told me he would give me a set of bolt-on brackets for factory rear disc brakes that came off of a 12 bolt rearend in a 69 Chevelle. He said that him and a friend looked it up in a book and that GM produced about 13,000 SS's with r/d/brakes in 69. Can anyone confirm this? It sounds to good to be true. But it would be aweful sweet! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks,
Elmo

Don't think so but I may be wrong??

Seems like the only four wheel disc brake cars were the few Camaro JL-8 jobbers and the Vettes of the time... They used basically the same brakes...

I'm not saying that you can't buy brackets to use to convert off ebay now, but they aren't stock by no means...pdq67

Some of the older Cadillac rear discs are a pretty simple swap. Chevelles never came with them, to my knowledge.

that other chevy car that starts with C ( & it isn't corvette or covair ) had an over the counter option for rear disc's back in 68-69 ... Could be someone put em on a Chevelle .. would be lots easier (CHEAPIER) now days to just get the rears off a caddy & buy the bracket from one of the venders :D
