Thanks, we love it too. I wanted a stockish Monaco Orange and Wesley wanted a more modern pearl type shine so my painter came up with this custom Candy Orange Pearl. The sunlight makes it flip to a copper/gold orange. :D

Looks awesome.

Quick question: How did you mount the AC under the dash? What did you do on the backside where it's supposed to mount to the firewall. I have my vintage air sitting in a box and that's my next project I have to tackle. No need to reinvent the wheel if there is already a good solution out there.

My bodyman took a plasma cutter and cut the lip around the heater box to smooth the firewall. Then he placed a flat peice of metal from inside and welded it in.

Then he smoothed the firewall with filler.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/WesleyTullos/DSC04202.jpg

Then he hung the AC box with the small bracket on the front of the unit, you can see it is attached to the brace on the dash at the left side of the glove box near the top with a long bolt...

and with the 4 bolts screwed into the attaching plate mounted on the AC unit on the back marked it's (the large mounting bracket on the back) placement on the firewall. Then he removed the large rear bracket from the unit and used an expensive ($50.00 per tube, you get two applicators per tube and I was able to split the cost with a buddy!) epoxy glue to attach the bracket to the firewall without having to drill mounting holes thru the firewall. We let it dry for a few days.

Now installing it is a pain in the ..... :D

I don't know from experience, but my friend with a 69 Road Runner over tightened the bolts on his new bumber and the chrome craked and peeled. Be carefull.

what i did was to first tape cardboard to the fenders were the bumper wrap around. i also painted the inside of the bumper with silver por-15 to seal the inside of it. i installed brackets to the bumper and with 2 helpers slide it in as a unit. plus bumper bolts have a low torque spec i believe about 40 ft. pounds. your doing a great job the car is a show piece.

Hey Ray what color seats and door panels will you have? PUI or Lengendary or something else? I have not bought mine yet.

Thanks for clarifying. I had a different plan. How well do you think it will hold up over time? I'm guessing there probably isn't that much stress on those brackets.

Mike my bodyman said he had done many of them in the past with ZERO problems. I ask him about the glue and he said that most of my Corvette was glued together, enough said...

I'll have to add that to my list of possible solutions.
