on a 1968 SS 396-375 HP L78 chevelle?

According to the above mentioned book 4751 1968 Chevelles came with the L78 375hp option. Included in that figure is El Caminos and convertables. Definitely a rare car considering prod figures but not as rare as 67's (only 612 according to same book). Engine suffix code was EG included an aluminum intake and Holley 780cfm carb. Could only be had as a manual trans.The RED BOOK also has alot of info about other Supersports from 1961-1973. This is only one point of reference. Another book to consider is the Chevrolet by the Numbers 65-69 or the same name except 70-75.

Thanks for the info.,my dad just purchased
a 68 SS396 (L78) just like the one he bought new back in 1968(kinda cool).My car is a 70 SS396 (L34) car.
