Chevelle & El Camino Assoc. #085 bob70@chevelles.com ratchet Oct 12th, 99, 6:59 PM bob70, I don't remember if a 66 is same as a 64,I just put one in couple of weeks ago.There is a little pin(small button) on the switch assembly that must be pushed in to allow the shaft to slide out the front.Once the shaft is out its a breeze,Just unscrew the retaining washer and remove assembly from under dash.You can see the button on the new switch easily( have to feel for it while in dash) I replaced mine cause the tail lights were on then off at will.It turned out to be a loose connection at the place where harness plugs into flat cable that runs under carpet. later Tony Bob70 Oct 13th, 99, 12:17 PM How do you get that retaining nut off? does it require a special tool?
