Can someone tell me if a 70 olds delta 88 12 bolt posi is the same size as a 70 chevelle,Will it bolt right in? Frank

it will bolt right in but they are not the same. all the internal parts are different as well as the axles, bearings and features on the housing but as a unit you can put it in a chevelle. the drive shaft yoke might require a different u-joint. you can buy u-joints with different sized ends on the same u-joint.

Hot Rod mag. did story a long time ago about Olds rears. They said the spider gears and internals were actualy stronger and thicker the the Chevy's.

Delta 88 is a B body and I don't think it will bolt in. The B body rear I had from a 70 Impala had the springs mounted on the lower arms and the upper arms were attached to the axle tubes and it had a panhard bar.

The internals are supposed to be stronger, but not much in the way of different gears or aftermarket parts are available.
