I know that a Saginaw 4 speed was the low hp trans, but how many ft/Ibs will one take. The engine is a 454, but it will not ever see slicks only alitte street action. Before the bashing beings, remember that the 3-speed is use by many a stock that have very high horsepower levels And the cost of a good 4-speed is about 100 bones

thanks

If you want to run a Saginaw 4sp, that's okie doki fine. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
If you want to run it behind a 454, that's also okie doki. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
Actually, running it behind a 454 until it breaks would be a good test bed. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif
But when it breaks, just pick up the pieces so that someone doesn't run over them and puncture a tire, and then put in a Muncie or Super T-10. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
Let us all know how long it lasts. If nothing else you can be saving your money for the next 4sp while you are running tests on the durability of a Saginaw. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif
