Re-doing my Chevelle's front suspension. Got everything out except the upper control arm bolts. Not enough room to hammer them out.....a socket on the bolt head doesn't do anything.....Cursing at them doesn't do anything either? Should I hack saw a few inches off and try to whack them out? It's these little snags that make a small job last a month!! AAHHHH!!!

Support the lower arm and pop loose the upper ball joint. The upper arm will then come out with the bolts.
*EDIT*
Now I see what you mean. The right one usually will come out unless you have headers. On the left one I have gotten between the bolt head and the frame with a screwdriver I didn't care about and hammered on it. That's usually enough to back the bolt up. The bolt won't spin unless it gets backed up.

The Upper control arm bolts that attach the arms to the frame are studs and should not be removed...Instead remove the nuts of the inside and keep the alignment shims together for reassembly...You may have to remove headers if any and the steering shaft away from the gear box to slide the a arms out...

They are not really studs. They are splined bolts. Meaning they don't turn and are in there tight. You just have to press them out with a clamp or something.
WD-40, a homemade clamp, and a BFH to hit the head of the bolt while it was under force from the clamp, were needed to pop mine out.

Thanks! Sprayed some Power Blast stuff on them and will go out to try the Screw driver and BFH method in a few minutes.
Thanks again!

Just curious, but why do you want to take them out?
