I would like to improve the handling of my Chevelle but I have about NO money to spend on the parts. I've read that "boxing" the Upper/Lower rear control arms help and also the front control arms.

I have Steel available and the tools and resources to make a homemade job. I have access to both a stick and mig welder and I am pretty good at welding.

I guess what I am looking for is tips and advice, or at least a place to get some. I've tried a search but all I found was people buying kits and welding them in. I want to do the job myself but do not want to screw it up.

If anybody has any advice or resources I would greatly appreciate it

Heres some info I used when I boxed my rear arms

You,re gonna need money, ain't no way around it.Just boxing the control arms will do little, if anything at all to change your handling characteristics. Now,if you start adding a rear bar,new springs and shocks, fatter front bar, polyurethane bushings, etc, then you'll see dramatic improvements.
If you are bucks down, your best bet would be to shop all the swap meets you can.thats where I got my 1 1/8 front bar for 10 dollars.I traded some parts I had saved for some poly bushings from a friend. What I'm saying is you can still fix up your Chevelle, you just have to be more patient and creative.
