Can anyone tell me what the correct cam#, advance# and points plate# are for the 67 L79 325 hp 327 are? I just picked up a car with the proper carb, intake and a 195 dist. in the back seat,and the date codes are in order. Any info would be appreciated. Steve

Steve,

cam = 1966994

vacuum advance = 1115355 or Delco Remy D1382

points plate = 1962141

These are the GM numbers shown in my old Delco Remy parts breakdown catalogue. They may have been superceded by now, but you may still find originals if you search enough. And welcome to the site by the way. :beers:

I finally got this thing cleaned up and got the numbers off of it. The cam has 530 CCW stamped on the bottom of it, the vacuum adv. is a MS 355 15 and the points plate is stamped 2769047. The distributor is obviously a 1111195 with a date of 7C7 and the car's trim tag has a 03D build date. Before I send this thing out to be rebuilt I just want to make sure it has the right parts because someone has had the shaft out of it since it has been run. Any additional info would be appreciated. Steve, just caught your reply. The 530 CCW isn't an indication of a part number, it is only of importance to the factory workers that assembled the cam and the advance plate of what parts to put together for that particular part. The numbers vary on the advance plate depending on the length of the slot, and that varies with the amount of mechanical advance prescribed for each distributor. The 355 stamped on the vacuum advance is the last three numbers of 1115355 and the 15 stands for the degrees of advance in the canister. The 2769047 is the patent number of the plate and not the part number. The part number is not stamped anywhere on the plate. Likely all the parts on your distributor are correct, you just have to replace whatever is missing, worn out or used up.
