I have done some searching through the archives and have some questions regarding a drum to disc conversion for the rear of my 70 Chevelle. Your name pops up a lot. Currently, car has front discs and rear drums. Questions:
1) The procedure you described using the Camaro parts, does it allow for use with Moser axles, stock bolt pattern? I have replaced my stock axles with 30 spline Mosers.
2) Can you give me a little more info on the yoke mount e-brake? Is that a small rotor mounted to the yoke with another caliper? Would my stock e-brake cable operate it?
3) Would my present master cylinder and valving work with rear discs or do I need to change those components as well?
4) Any clearance issues with stock SS rims and rear calipers?
5) Estimate of total cost of this type project?

wow, a lot of questions. if i dont answer all of them please ask again. if you have not checked out my web pag about this please do. i also used moser new axles, but i put the larger 5 on 5" bolt pattern to match the b-body front spindle conversion. you dont have to do that. this works for the original 5 on 4.75" lug pattern only you use 1980 Camaro rear rotors.
smile.gif i also have pics of the disc parking brake kit on my site. it has an aluminum caliper that works on a thin rotor mounted on the yoke. the front part of your stock cable will work but you have to put in an intermediat cable to actuate it. smile.gif
you will need to get a disc-to-disc valve and mastercylinder. i just bought mine from "the right stuff" while i was at it i bouth their new stainless lines and the relocating kit that mounts the valve under the master cylinder instead of on the frame down by all that heat. smile.gif
there should be no clearence problems with stock rims but i have not tried them. the rotors are 11" i will be using 16" wheels but i have 15" on there now. smile.gif

454,
Just out of curiosity... what rear rotors are you using to get the 5x5 bolt pattern??

Thanks,
