Anyone ever use the Sparco R-100 Buckets?

Curious if anyone has any feedback on these. The price is right and the look is pleasing. Will have to recover my rear seat, but such is the price of custom cars :)

Thanks

Mike

All i have is the original seats. While they are in really great shape, i want something that holds me in place a bit better. Also want something that i can use a 5 point harness. Anyone have any suggestions to an affordable set?

Jeezus, dont!!! What a waste of cash. Look at Corbeau seats. You can get a pair of Corbeau A4 seats for just under $700.

I actually considered these but decided on a set of OMP Grand Comfort seats but thats not set in stone as I may end up buying some composite fixed back seats instead.

If your that broke right now save your money a little longer as youll be way happier later. My favorite saying is, "BUY ONCE, CRY ONCE." That means buy the right part the first time regardless of the price cause in the long run (or the short in this situation) youll end up buying a different set again and itll be more expensive than a REALLY nice set the first go round.

Moral of the story is being on a budget doesnt mean being cheap.

FYI, if you want fixed back seats so you can participate in track days with your car, check the sanctioning body's rule book for seat specs. I got interested in LSR at the Maxton Mile and thought I'd get ahead of the curve and installed a Sparco composite Evo seat on the driver side. It turns out that the ECTA requires a metal seat, no composites allowed. Fortunately the store I bought the Evo seat from let me return it and I bought an aluminum Kirky seat.

If you like the design of those seats, look in summit. They have seats in that design for less.

Highback buckets always look like crap in Chevelles. Just IMHO but it always looks like someone stuffed seats froma dodge dakota in there and it really looks odd to me.

Also I have seen a ton of good deals on craigslist on those seats, i guess the import guys need more rice.

You make a good point. I plan on running is NASA and SCCA sanctioned stuff but I do know what youre talking about when it comes to that stuff. Theres also a myriad of different rules regarding a seat brace. Strange enough is In some classes if you have FIA homologated seats you apparently arent allowed to brace them to the cage but if its not FIA then its mandatory  Also head bracing is becoming mandatory for many classes. Those big hoop looking things around some seats are required. Either that or a net on the right side of your head and sometimes both.

I will keep that in mind though regarding the Silver State races that Id like to attend. I believe NASCAR rules abound with that race.

I must ask this though.. Did those rules apply if it was a reclining seat?? Reason I ask is cause sometimes when you add a part into your car that isnt neccessary to tech but you put it in anyways it must be installed to the letter of the rule book. For example, Old OEM seat belts can pass tech but if you were to install an aftermarket 5 point harness that was one day expired you wouldnt pass. Obviously even a 30 yr old set of racing harnesses should be better than the old stockers but thats how it is. Same with cages, dont install a cage of any sort unless you plan to install it to spec even if it wouldnt be required for your class or spec.
