Iam installing a rear sway bar on my 70 ss.Car has boxed lower control arms and when i got the car there was no sway bar. My question is when i install the bar do i put the bolts thru from the control arm side and put the nut on the sway bar side or the other way around.Sounds simple but i want to do it right.
Thanks

Nuts on the inboard side of swaybar

does it make a difference?
I installed mine with the nuts outward.
My thinking was to keep the shear plane (between the bar and the control arm) away from the threads.

My GM assembly manual shows engineer drawings with the bolts going one way, then an updated drawing with the bolts changed to the other direction. Personally, I don't see a difference so I chose to install my bolts with the nuts on the inside of the sway bar.
