Will the 73 malibu spindles, rotors, etc work for a 66 chevelle disk brake conversion? Everything I see only goes to 72.

Looked all over today, can't find any 69-72 a-body donor. They must be gold!

Any help appreciated!

The 73 to 77 A-body spindles are the same tall spindles used on the B-body cars. The 73 Malibu spindles use 11 inch rotors. These can be adapted to the earlier A-bodies but require a turned down lower ball joint and the tie rod ends and ball joints from the later cars. There is lots of information on this website about tall spindle conversions.

We know we can make the S-10 2" Dropped Superior Spindles we have work by turning the lower ball joints, and really don't see a problem with turning it (Plus turn a spare set at the same time). However, you can't get as large a rotor on the S-10 Spindles.

We replyed to a post about these spindles the other day in the Global West Group Purchase.

A local Chevelle enthusist told us the other day that you can also use '78-'87 Elke spindles, but we wouldn't know if that info is correct or not.
