Anyone used their single stage urethanes? They have a line of original musclecar colors, 99.95/gal plus 20.00 hardener. Thoughts?

I'd be interested in the Ermine White.

No experience with this paint but be advised that the two parts make
one sprayable gal. Just did a quick check on their site to find this. I
don't know I would want some pictures of finished cars before taking
the chance unless its a beater.

Many budget paints are available locally if one is so compelled. Eastwood repackages paint, it's not theirs. Is their shipping free? And if you run short you can't just have them mix you a small quantity? You are not going to get a long lasting quality job from it. Gloss holdout will be short term and depth of shine low. Eastwood sure sucks in a lot of hobbiests.
As far as pictures go; they dont tell you squat. Real proof is up close and after 2-5 years after being shot. Not 2 days after being buffed. Crappy paint can be buffed out for advertising.

While pictures don't tell you the story of how long paint lasts it does give
you an idea on what the finish does look like. Just because it says Irmine
White doesn't mean it is or close. Of course paint in this price range and
single stage will not last as long as PPG etc. bc/cc systems. But for the
hobbiest it might be fine. Depends on what YOU want it to do.:)

All cheaper paints are rebranded weather from Eastwood, Summit etc. All
pictures that are for advertisements are buffed or finished as well as they
can be so unless you know the product there is always a good chance
they are not as good as they say. Feedback from users does help but they
can be slanted as well. Ask around your town what others use and ask how
long its been shot.

Last keep in mind if its garage kept, out in the sun, rain etc. Cheap paint
can last a long time if garage kept and not driven every day:yes:

It'd be for my '68 Chevelle. It will be garaged and covered and sparingly used, but I want it to be nice. I was planning on PPG Concept single stage, but it means waiting 6-8 more months to paint if thats what I use, due to the expense. Thanks, guys.

Dave,

If you have a local DuPont jobber, check and see if they still have Centari. It's an acrylic enamel paint. If I had to make a guess, I'd say it might be around $60-$70 per quart.

I'd be interested in the Ermine White.

Think I have the formula for Ermine in omni base. Paint rep said it should be an exact match? Dunno how correct it is, wasn't much paint left on my car LOL.

Tom , I want a urethane for ease in cut and buff, I'm suprised Centauri is still out there! . I've seen Omni white used and it didn't lay down or cover very well. I'm going to save up and hold out for the Concept. Thanks for the advice.

If you want to stick to a urethane, I've used the Utech line before. I used their single stage urethane to paint the Cuda.
