: Good disc brake kit recommendations?

I have a '66 Chevelle. I want to get disc brakes on the front which did not come with the car originally. From a safety standpoint, are the current disc brake kits better then getting an original disc brake set-up and having it rebuilt? Do the kits detract from the value of the car? Are any kits recommended over others?
Thank you,
Bob

I dont know what too tell you about detracting from the value or which kits are best but I know that most of the kits I see that provide everything cost around $1000. I just bought a kit on ebay with everything that bolts on at the wheels and it was already assembled so I just bolted it on. I was left too buy the hoses $40, proportioning valve $40, and master cylinder $25. Those are estimates but I paid $500 for the kit so I have $605 in mine and the only thing I used that was mine was the booster. After I bought this I found out that I could have probably bought all of the stuff at O'reillys even cheaper but they could not get spindles. Just check around before you buy.
