I am attempting to remove a brake caliper for the first time and I have a question. I have read in a service manual where you compress the brake piston of the caliper with a large C Clamp. What is the size of C Clamp to use (please tell me in inches)? Thanks for any and all responses!

I use (I think) a 6 inch clamp. Leave the old brake pad in place across the caliper face. This will give you something for the clamp to push against without damaging the caliper.

I had to go to the garage for something anyway tongue.gif ... The clamp I use is a 6". Just remember the rule about letting the caliper dangle by the brake hose - Don't Do It! Either balance it on the A-arm or hang it from a piece of wire to the fenderwell. ;)
The Allen bolt uses a 3/8" wrench, and you may need to use a "cheater" pipe on a shorty wrench to crack it loose. Dig/pick around in the hole and get as much of the crud out of it before trying to loosen.
