The bezels should be stamped on the bottom as to whether they are inside bezels or outside bezels.

They should also be stamped L-left or R-right.

Mine are stamped LI, LO, RI, RO. Not much confusion there.

Yep, same here. Stands for Left Inside, Left Outside, Right Inside, Right Outside. Left is the driver side.

I have a '69 trim ring and it has the slugs that you can knock out for the washer squirters. It came in a box of stuff I bought one time. As Von said, Left is always driver side. In the manufacture of cars engineering always refers to the car this way. Quite often mechanics do the opposite as they are mostly facing the front of the car with left being the passenger side.

Finally someone that knows the left and right sides properly. When I was in high school auto shop, 1968, we were taught that the drivers side was the right. Now the younger crowd want to argue this, even most auto parts stores. Maybe we should change this along with changing our national language to spanish just to make some happy. Like tools, metric and standard. Not metric and American. Wait until the texting generation grows up. We will not have to be concerned with these things as they will not know how to write or read english anyway.

Have a build sheet? I have not seen the "headlights in the interior option before" and would like to see the RPO code for that one. :D

The headlight rings and the headlight bezels are two different things.

The headlight rings can go on any headlight. That's the stainless ring that holds the headlight to the headlight bucket. Two screws and a spring.

The headlight bezels are labeled on the bottom.

If you are seeing only L or R, then you have 1968 bezels.
1969 bezels have LO LI RI RO

1968 and 1969 bezels are completely different. And IMO do not interchange.

mine just say say l and r not li lo

I believe 68's are marked either left or right. No designation for inner or outer.

You don't know about the "hi-intensity dome light" option? It doubles as a tanning booth. Available only on '69's for a short time before being cancelled. Very rare.;)

I was going through my collection of headlight bezels today to pick out four good ones. One is an old original '69 with the black paint but it just has R stamped on it. I have a '68 with the single letter but you can see the difference in the contour where it meets up to the grille contour. Three of the bulbs were the old T3s but one is burned out. I guess I will need to round up a couple of the hi-lo beam T3s. :)
