I'm ready to put together another Baer GP for those of you that expressed interest after the last one was so successful. Here's the scoop;as a Baer dealer,I'm prohibited from advertising huge discounted prices but I can say pricing will be very attractive. If you are interested in getting in on this group purchase, please check out www.baer.com (http://www.baer.com) for your specific applications. Email me your questions at chooper@sw.rr.com and I'll be glad to help.
Thank you.

Clint, what do you recommend with my wheel set-up?

Clint44
Jan 17th, 04, 10:40 PM
Front? Rear? FWIW,my car has 17" wheels and I have Baer's 13" Track set-up on the front and 12" Touring kit on the rear. There's lots of options so it kinda depends on your pocketbook.

Well, if I can get away with just fronts for now that's probably what I'll do. Right now I still have the stock brakes with a very high cam. So you know what happens with that combo. My car doesn't stop.

Install a vacuum canister or convert to manual brakes. You probably don't want to install another camshaft.

I actually have the canister already. It's still not enough. I'm looking at the hydraboost now and possibly Baer for the fronts.

Clint, does this mean you've given up on the C5 conversion project?

Clint44
Jan 18th, 04, 10:36 PM
I already had the Baers before considering the C5 parts. Just wasn't interested in tall spindles, either.

Any word on when you'll be placing the order? I still need to figure a couple things out on my LeMans and would like to know approximately how much time I have to do it.

Thanks!

I would like to see us get 7-10 orders.
My guess is about a month before I order anything.
Maybe sooner,,maybe later.

Does Baer have a kit for manual brakes for my car? I have 15" wheels and would like to keep the wheels and spindles. Which is just the basic kit? I don't think I even want power because manual brakes should do fine. What do you think? TIA

Yes,you can stay with manual brakes. Sounds like the 11" Serious Street kit is what you're looking for.

Come on Clint....Lets get this show on the road. I am really starting to need some brakes to get the car back together. What is the current timing? It sounds like we have a pretty good group ready. Thanks, Skip

I'm ready when you are,Skip. I was just waiting for everyone to make up their mind what they wanted. Unless I get a ton of orders next week, the order deadline will be March 9th.

Clint44, I am also interested, just heard about this group buy from Team Camaro where I mentioned that Crowenate should start a group buy for Baer brakes! Might want to post over at camaros.net to help us cousins out!

A helpful suggestion would be to call or email Baer and have them send you a catalog. Their phone number is (602)233-1411 and website address is http://www.baer.com/ If you are serious about getting in on this group purchase, you can also email me for my phone number and I'll try to help you choose the best brake application for your needs. If you email me for pricing info, please be specific about what kit you are interested in and part numbers,if possible. Thank you.

What kind of time frame are we looking at on this Clint44?

Clint44
Feb 18th, 04, 12:17 AM
I'm probably going to order everything around the 10th of March. I'll be at Bike Week in Daytona from the 1st to the 8th so the plan was to see where we stand after I return. Am taking orders now, though, but not depositing any funds until the above date.

If I all ready have 12" rotors and tall spindle conversion using Hotchkis A-arms can I keep my 15" wheels but step up to a Baer caliper like a 2 piston one?

Also do their conversions require the tall spindle and tubular upper A-arms? My other car has 4 wheel drums and I have B-body spindles but I still want to lower the car some. What other spindles or combo is reccomended?

Thanks

Clint44

Baer doesn't sell calipers as separate parts, only kits.
Baer sells kits for A & B-body spindles. Tubular arms are really only required for the B-body kits.

The Baer group purchase will end on March 15th. If you want to save a substantial amount on Baer products,it's time to act.

Well, it's been a couple of days now...How many of you have received your brake upgrades (installed?) and how many of you are willing to sell your original disc brake setups for us who still have drums?

Clint44
Apr 21st, 04, 7:21 PM
Sorry,my original disc brakes are already spoken for. smile.gif
Just because the GP is almost over doesn't mean I can't make someone a helluva deal on Baer products. Drop me a line if you need some excellent brakes.
