I will be installing new brake lines on my '70 for a front disk/rear drum setup. The original lines are corroded and crusted with rust. Where should I look to buy new brake lines/hoses for my chevelle ? Thanks ;)

I got my stainless ones from inline tube, good prices ,good materials but I had to do alot of bending and tweaking to get them to fit.I got the so called "prebent" ones the are supose to connect right up but they were far from it.

I think they used a miata for the jig graemlins/clonk.gif

Get the stainless if you can afford it,they'll outlast your car and they look good,or get the regular stock type and have'em rust and look tacky .The only drawback is the price and they are little harder to bend.

I got my lines from http://www.rightstuffdetailing.com/

Great people to work with. They sent me one wrong line and were quick to send out the correct one and didn't ask for the other one back.

I also had to tweak the bends a little bit to get them to fit right.

I got my lines (steel) from Original Parts Group, which were actually Fine Lines ones. Had to tweak them to fit correctly as well. They've worked great so far.

It might be obvious, but you can buy straight lines from the parts store and make your own for quite a bit cheaper. Although it is much more work...... ;)

If your new to bending tubing by the time you buy the bender, flairing tool and screw up a bunch of line you might as well buy "pre bent"

After mucho frustration trying to get the flares right I gave up and ordered pre-bent stainless. I've now done that for three cars. It's hard enough to get out and in new lines. I went with stainless so I only had to go through that frustration ONCE!

Good luck! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I used stainless lines from Finelines for my 70. www.finelines.com (http://www.finelines.com) They supply Year One with their stainless brake lines (I ordered a set from Year One then also called Finelines - the guy on the phone at Finelines recongized my name from the drop shipment order Year One had placed with them!).

Finelines was a bit cheaper to work with directly. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
