I have searched the topic but no joy.
I am looking to replace my leaking air shocks.
I want to use non air shocks.Only carry the occasional heavy load. Anyone done this swap. What brand ,model #.Hows the ride?

TIA

I have used both Bilsteins and Edelbrock shocks and been very happy with both. If you want to still carry a load, I would add a set of air bags with the on board compressor. I have used air bags with the compressor and with out. Air bags need to have a min. of 10 lbs in them. With the on board compressor when they bleed down the compressor will add pressure as needed. I have found that they will pump up to around 15 or so lbs during normal driving. I changed the pressure on switch from a 10 lb switch to a 5 lb switch and they now stay at 10 lbs. I feel the compressor is well worth the $$$. Of course you can increase the pressure from inside as needed to carry a load.

Might try KYB. The gas adjust have about a 200 # gas charge.

Use whatever brand gas shocks you like, and go with a set of air springs- www.airliftcompany.com (http://www.airliftcompany.com)

The air springs won't lift your car like air shocks do(ok, they raise it a little bit) but mostly just adjust for the load...

Best way to go imo...
