I put the KYB gas adjust on the front and rear of my 67 Chevelle, best investment for the cost.

I am also looking for new shocks for my '72 velle. Just a general question for everyone who voted for KYB, what do you use your car for? (i.e. track, street, other)

I was leaning towards Koni, but I am having difficulty getting over sticker shock (~$95 per shock) . KYB is a lot easier on the pocketbook (~$28 per shock from Summit), but I wasn't sure if it is one of those cases of "you get what you pay for".

mine is street driven. I think "value" was the key word in my decision and the improvement over what was previously on my car was huge. If money is not an object or if you are looking for a drag race or high tech pro touring shock then there are lots of other choices. If your cheap (I mean frugal) like me and want good overall performance...you can't go wrong with the KYBs.

I've used KYBs in other cars as has my brother. We both love them and the price can't be beat. I think they are a great value and excellent on the street. As Janisch said there are more exotic and probably better shocks out there for racing or what have you. But I agree that the KYBs are affordable and perform well!

After several weeks of indecision, I decided to go with the Bilsteins. I have the TVS setup from Hotchkis and they work well with the system! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I had the KYB's on my C/K-1500 for 5 years and blew out 2 shocks (the left rears - the same shock every 2.5 years). I didn't haul heavy loads nor had the wrong type of KYB for my application - just bad luck, I guess :(
The lifetime warranty helped, but I had to drive down to L.A. to get them replaced. graemlins/sad.gif

I have the KYB's on my Chevelle and my IROC. Great shock for the money. They are greta handling firm street shocks, not good for drag strips (you will need 90/10 drag shocks)and if you want to go road course racing you would buy the Koni's or Bilstiens.
