In the restoration section by Skip Cain titled "Engine and Undercarriage Detailing", Skip makes a reference to the hood hinges, latch, catch and springs as being gray phosphate plated? Does anyone have a better explaination of this? I asked one plating shop, but they were of no help. What exactly was this plating and does anyone know how to replicate it or have it done.

Ed,

According to my freind whom does plating he advised the it can be done by the following;

Nassau Chrome Plating
Minneola New York
(516) 746-6666

According to him it is not an electro plating process it is emersion process.

Hope this helps
