ok, I have a 1969 chevelle
this is what i have done so far:

I have got SSM upper and lower boxed arms for the rear. i have got Hotochkis springs front and rear.
new Poly front suspension, and air bags in rear springs. also have KYB shock front and rear.

Now, i want a good set-up for street cruise and weekend drag racing. the motor that is being built is a 383 storker that will have 500+hp and
500+ft-lbs. all at good street RPM's

the one thing i don't like is the hight of the front end. I feel the springs are to tall.
i also feel the rear are to low.
I wish is could find the PN# so you would know what is in it.

Is this a good set up? is this how it is ment to set?

what needs to be done to ether fix or finish the suspention?

thanks

Scottie,
Sounds like you are more interested in the 1320' than carving corners which the Hotchkis springs, with their high spring rates, are known for.

It also sounds like you have the Hotchkis springs that were manufactured before they went to a dedicated SB spring up front for small block cars. I have those springs too and agree that it sits too high in the front, but I do like how it sits in the rear.

You didn't mention anything about sway bars, but for a drag/street setup I would go with a rear bar (F41 or aftermarket bar) and possibly something small up front (as opposed to nothing at all) that could be removed for blasts down the strip.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Joe

I forgot to add the front sway, Yes i do have a front sway. 1.25"

Yes i did get the spring before the sb ones cam out. So what did you do to the front?
add lower spindels?

Are you saing that teh Hotochkis springs
Are good for drag racing?
or Are not good for drag racing?

I plan to add a rear sway bar, I'm looking into getting a 1" bar.

I guess i'm just wanting to know if the Hotochkis springs are a good set up?

and what to do to get the front how i want it?

thinking spindle drop.

p.s. I also like the rear stance.
it just looks very low becouse of the front.
