I am looking for pics of the top dash suede finish. I was also wondering if this texture can be duplicated by backing the gun away and dusting it in? Has anybdoy had any luck doing this?

You can add PPG DX 1999 texture additive to Duracryl with flattening agent or Jerry M. at Camaro High Performance stocked his own brand which I've never used. Krylon's textured flat finish is close, the lesser of the two textured levels they offer. You can't duplicate a finish well that is chemically created with an additive.

The biggest problem I have is knowing what I am trying to duplicate. I did take a look at another 69 today. It had a texture that looked like it could be duplicated pretty close with technique. I sprayed another coat tonight and dusted the paint in for a textured look. I am using a BC/CC mixed for single stage with a flattener. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see how well it flattens out. It was still a little glossy tonight. I don't care if it has a little gloss to it though.

Then on to the semi-gloss front dashboard. All I have to do is get this thing all back together by May. :)

Go to CRG. Ram Air Dave posted a survivor suede dashtop picture. Search "suede" there and you get more threads on the subject and spraying techniques. http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=2134.15

Thank you for the link Scott. I appreciate it!

This is what I have come up with so far. As I said, it is a little glossy yet tonight. And this is taken with an iPhone with crappy lighting.

More reducer will decrease the sheen also. FYI, if you over-reduce epoxy it will come out dead flat.

I haven't decided if I am going to leave it or go over it one more time with a lower gloss. I masked it off and painted the front dash this morning. I used all of the hardener I had to finish the front. One more trip to the paint shop or unmask it and put it together? My OCD makes me crazy in times like this.
