Has anyone, except Zoops, come up with a billet grill for a 70 yet?? Or even a chrome one?

I saw this @ SEMA this year but it was a custom deal I was told by the owner/builder. I think it looked really nice myself.

There is a local guy in my area that has a chrome plating business. He can chrome anything, wood, plastic, and fiberglass to name a few things I have seen. I am sure he could do a stock grill.

Nice looking grill. Too bad no one want to capitalize on cornering the market for the 70 Chevelle items. Small things like a 3 bolt hood latch in chrome or billet...no one makes ! I just paid $156 to have mine chromed, but you can buy the 4 bolt latch already chromed for $19.95 and it includes the chrome bolts!! Why is the nice stuff for the 70 not being made??I think it would sell good.

Hey guys....found this on EBAY this morning. Item # 270534911887 He has it for a 70 and sent me a photo installed in a 70. Anyone had any experience with this seller or product. At $197 it's not a bad price, but I'm leary as to the quality. THanks

The funny thing is that Strut Grill on that Chevelle is probably $5000.

Just for the grill.

I'm not joking.

Strut describes their stuff as "automotive jewelery"-- and charge accordingly. There are people out there who buy them, believe it or not.

Must be one hell of a profit margin...

The fitment looks pretty bad though. Look at the gap on the Driver's headlight side... Maybe it's just the angle of the photo.

Just for kicks, I emailed Strut and they called me right back!! The price is $3-4,000 per their rep. THey deal primarily with the "big boys toys" and occasionally have to drop down to "classic" just to satisfy one of their multi-millionaire superstars!!! Wow...what a business to be in!

,,,crazy as it sounds there is a whole other world out there to service where you can make a business out of it....believe it or not. Ever been to SEMA and the wheel hall....WOW the $$ running around there. The pic I posted was from this past 2009 SEMA where that yellow Chevelle was out side place on display. In this world, bad economy or not you never know what people spend their money on. I myself in my business just see it changed to where people spend money on toys but don't talk about it as much or spend it where you don't notice as bluntly. More people commonly spend more on "Want" rather than "Need"....it's just the way it is.

We would have the only 2 !! Per the rep, they did the one for the yellow car for his "driver". His other 2 cars a Bentleys and they each have a Strut grill!!! I wonder if he has a "strut" grill for his mouth! . I ordered the one from the guy in CAlifornia. Anxious to see how it looks. Can't post the picture cause it's too big and I don't know how to resize it.

If you're running windows xp, hit start, Run, type MSPAINT. (vista, type it in the search bar in the start menu)
File > Open (your picture)
CTRL+W
set horizontal to 50, vertical to 50
Save as... give it a different name.
Then attach it to the thread or host it on photobucket.

Good lord. If I had the option to buy a 4K grill.....i'd opt out and buy a procharger or wheels and tires or a new engine. Thats insane, I dont care what its made of, who makes it or anything else....insane its made, insane its bought.

That said - BRAVO Strut because your doing it, obviously having success at it AND its completely insane to the point that it frustrates me just knowing its out there. Hell of a thing.

I like this one the best out of those posted here... JMO, but the '70 just looks better with the body-colored horizontal divider bar...

The Strut grill on the '71, Not my style... Nice idea, nice material, but IMO, it should be recessed and not flush mounted...
