I am supposed to get my 12 bolt back from the shop tomorrow with the ring and pinion and carrier setup. I plan on installing it in on my 68 this weekend. I bought new stock rear springs.

What things do I have to keep in mind when installing the springs? I know when I did the front, there was a top and a bottom to the spring and a certain position within the control arm that they sat. Same for the rear (top, bottom, position)?

I did buy isolators to go on the top of the springs.

I forget if the upper seat may have a locator. But I don't believe it does. Otherwise, the springs are really easy to put in.

If you bought factory replacement double pigtail rear springs it doesn't matter which side is top or bottom. both spring pockets, frame and axle sides have locators. When you install the rearend, connect up all the control arms first, jack it up a bit to get the springs on and within the locators, then jack it up enough to get your shocks on.

The upper locator is roughly the same diameter as the inside of the upper isolator.
