I have A friend with A 68 Elcamino that is leaning on the driver side. The car was wrecked once and had to have one lower A-arm and he thinks he may have gotten one off the wrong year car. What year Lower A-arms are interchangable with his car? Thanks

64-72 GM A-bodies all used the same lower control arms. There were some subtle differences in the bushings that were used, but functionally they are all the same. Its doubtful that his control arm is from the wrong car, since no other arm would bolt up to the frame. Many cars lean on the drivers side. This is usually caused by the weight of the driver compressing the springs over time. It is also possible that his frame was bent in the accident.

Also, check the condition of the bushings & replace if necessary. Over time the hole in the bushings will elongate and become an oval. This can cause the leaning you mentioned.

Thanks, I'll let my friend know and maybe we can come up with A fix. He bought the 68 around 1970 I think and gave it to his son who wrecked it and later he bought it back from him and has had it since. It was wrecked again about five years ago but he fixed it again (except the lean). If I had some pics I would post them. Thanks again.
