Are there front springs out there that do not have a flat end? I recently pulled the springs out of my 68 to install lowering springs and I am no longer sure the front springs are the Moog springs the shop said they installed. The thing I'm not sure of, is that there is no "flat" end of the spring. All other front springs I have seen have an end with a flattened coil. On these, the coil just ends. What I do know is the front springs are very stout and measure 17 inches tall.
Ever hear of springs with no flat end? I'm confused.

Tim Moog springs do not have flat ends like the original GM springs did. I have moog springs on two of my cars and they both have round ends that fit into the control arms...

The 64-67 springs do not have a flat end.
The moog springs I bought a couple of years ago had the four digit number stamped into the inside of one of the end coils.

I learned something today smile.gif
I'll check the springs for the number when I get home. Guess I can stop cursing the shop (for now anyway ;) )

The 68+ springs should have a flat end. They may have installed the early ones by mistake.
