not sure where to post this but here it goes. I built this bracket to house my rear speakers. when i test fitted everything i noticed the back of my speakers (the magnetic part) are about 1/8'' from the metal. will this effect my speakers performance ? I'm not sure i can fit something in between the back of the cab and speakers. Thanks

Im no expert but I dont think it will. As long as its not touching then it should be fine. best way to find out is to hook it up and turn it on.

Is the magnet very strong?

It shouldn't effect your speakers. I put a full Memphis Audio system in mine and haven't had any problems even though the speakers are very close to the metal. I had the same worries, but the people at the car audio store here assured me that there shouldn't be a problem and there hasn't.

No worries about effecting performance, metal in proximity to magnets is used as shielding. It's done all the time.

However something you should consider is mounting foam between the box and whatever you mount it to to help prevent rattles and bad resonance.
