I recently got some '65 model camel hump heads for my 350. They had had an accessory hole drilled for the alternator mount but when I tried mounting the alternator the hole is WAY off. My question...I've seen some alternator bracket kits with about a 1/2 inch thick lower mount that still goes to the head, but would it be okay to just put a nut on the back of the alternator? Or if it would be okay to use the oem style bracket and just put a nut on the back of it?

I guess that someone drilled and tapped the camel hump head for an alternator bracket?

Are you using a long water pump pulley set-up?
