I have a 66 Malibu with PS,PB,auto and factory A/C. The front springs are SHOT! I stopped at the local Advanced for front springs. They show several sets for SB. 1 for SB with factory A/C, 1 HD with SB and factory A/C, and 1 for SB no Air.

All are US, probably MOOG. Anyone have a front spring recomendation for this car with these options? I would like a little lower than stock ride height. The Advanced computer also shows a number 6201 for the rear and this is consistant across the board. Probably would replace all four. If front are shot the rear cannot be far behind.

I have tried a search but did not find anything to really answer my question.

Opinions?

Thanks,

Mike

You could try this place. They make custom coil springs and they are pretty reasonable They quoted me $118 per pair, for 1 1/2" lower springs. Good luck.

My .02:
I tried 3 sets of springs (through much frustration...the first set sat the car crooked, and collapsed after being cut; the second were new TRW stock replacement and sagged sloppily 2" after 6 months; the third I tried to cut down big block springs, and gave up getting the car level and even) before settling on Hotchkis...and that came after hearing from a dozen others, and seeing more than several with the springs installed.

Solid, level ride. Not too stiff. No sag, no sway. Gentle upgrade from stock, and a little lower. I LOVED the way it sat my '69. Personally, I'll be looking for something a little stiffer when I get it done for road racing.

I wouldn't recommend any other, unless they don't have them for your '66.
