My car has a problem with steering... When going slow, like in a turning into a parking spot or a 3 point turn- or even when the car is just stopped and you try to crank the wheel either way- the wheel is real hard to turn and is jerky. There is a loud squeeling sound from up front.
This happens usually after the car is warm and has been driven for a while, but sometimes also happens when its cold/just started.
I've tried putting it in neutral and reving up the engine (spinnning the pump faster) to see if that would help, but it doesn't.
Any ideas if this could be the Steering Pump, or the Gear box?
This has been driving me nuts since I got the car last year, and I want to get it fixed.
Thanks-
Ben
