I am trying to find out my options for replacement of the rear exterior tailgate handle for the window,I can't seem to find one so was wondering if anybody had done any type replacement with a newer handle say from a blazer or new model wagon? How hard is and if they had any feedback on a source....thanx for any and all the help:confused:
P.S. I'm sorry if this wrong section please tell me where this add should go if not here???

Try Google "67 chevelle wagon tailgate". I got a couple of ads for tailgates and parts. Contact those guys to see if they have an extra, or know where to get one. Could also try Chuck Hanson (yeah, that one) as he has some experience with CHevelle wagons. I know there are others on here (RobinLS5) maybe they will chime in.

There's a 'Wagons' section here that'd be more focused, and this question has been asked before...but usually in regard to power window options.
I'd recommend converting to power, but those parts aren't falling off of trees either.
There's no quick, cheap, easy solution here. Chasing down rare parts is still the most viable option.
My '67 rear window is power, and it's slow, but it works. I've got another rear power window setup (from a '65) and it works fine....off the car. I am still mulling over options before I dive in and replace what I've got. I know how you feel- you just want it to work 'like new' - but that would require 'like new' components...

68-72 Rear window cranks are on the shelf at your Chevy dealership. How do I know this. Two years ago I was looking for one for my 70. I took the handle to Kenny Ross Chevrolet to ask my parts buddy for help.
He took a look and walked away and came back with two in boxes and asked me if I wanted them both. Check you handle and E-Mail me the part number cast in the back, I will look at my old one and see if the numbers match. FACT: 68-72 rear window crank is the same as a 80s-90s Blazers, K5s,Yukons, GMCs and other GM units with a crank.
Also if a 68-72 crank fits, There are two styles the old style and the new style ( SAME LOOK ) But the handle-- Has a two step pull out so you do not hurt your fingers when pulling the flush mounted handle out of the housing.
Here are the 1970 org. handle numbers. Crank housing 9713783
Crank handle 9703345
New 80s-90s handel fro Kenny Ross Chevrolet. Cannot get housing number it is mounted on my wagon. The crank handle number is 9703345
SAME CRANK and HANDEL.
I hope this handle is the same for a 67 ??????????
