Hi, I'm new on the block from the far east of Canada. Great forum for information. Anyway back to my subject, can you use a 80's big chev proportioning valve when doing the drum brake swap with disks on a 71 Malibu. I'm going to relocate the valve somewhere away from the headers so I'll have to run new lines, will I also need the fittings from the new valve, are the different? Thanks

concerning relocation of the combination valve away from headers, check out camaros, firebirds, and novas in your local salvage yard, circa 1972-1979. They use a bracket that mounts the combo valve onto the side or just below the master cylinder, instead of the frame rail drivers side on most other cars. That might do you and save your time and effort to fabricate one. The mounting holes on this bracker are in the same position as the frame mount combo valve, so they will interchange to either location.
