: Brake fluid in the booster

My master cylinder has been leaking some brake fluid where it bolts onto the booster. I removed the m/c a few days ago and then last night removed the booster. As I was carrying the booster to my work bench, fluid started to leak from the hole where the vacuum line plugs in. Must of had a couple of cups drain out. It looks like the seal on the back of the m/c was leaking which allowed the fluid to get sucked into the booster. Anyhow, I guess I don't have a question, just a heads up for anyone who may have a leaking master cylinder. There may be a chance the fluid could be getting into the booster.

Yep, it can happen and then the brake fluid eats away at the rubber diaphram in the booster. I would be suspect of that booster now. I only HEARD of it happening once but I'd give it some thought before I bolted that thing back in.

The booster on my 71 drum system was full when we did the disc convo too. Pretty save bet thats why i was having a lot of brake problems before the discs...
